What do you race? Go-karts.
How long have you been racing? One year.
What do you enjoy most about racing? Improving my lap times, going fast, having fun and being like my Supercars heroes
Who is your inspiration and why did you start racing? Scott McLaughlin, Jamie Whincup and Shane Van Gisbergen. I started racing to get ready for my job as a Supercar driver.
What would you like people to know about you? That I’m an excellent and safe driver. I like watching Supercars (with my Nan) and most things to do with racing cars. I love playing video games (including iRacing) playing basketball, soccer, swimming, doing Little Athletics and Nippers as well as playing the drums.
Who supports you in your racing? Christian Jory (and all of my teammates) at NSW Kart Team, mum and dad and Lachlan Ward who is my driving coach. Everyone at the track is helpful and encouraging. Also Kiara from Junior Driver Development.
Would you like to tell us about your autism diagnosis and about any challenges you face? How do you think autism has helped you? Some things are hard, like verbal instructions (I learn better by seeing and doing things), lots of noise and when there are lots of voices all at the same time. I am good a remembering things (that I’m interested in) which helps with drumming and whenever people ask me questions about Supercars.
Who are your sponsors? NSW Kart Team, Global Racing Oils Australia, Tony Kart, Brisk Spark Plugs, Five Lights Graphics and Design, Five Lights Photography
Anything else? I participate in the ‘Inclusive’ events at Nippers carnivals with Surf Life Saving NSW and am currently State Champion in the Youth Division for the Flags and Board events. I came second in the wade and long distance run as well as third in the sprint and the swim events at NSW State Titles a few weeks ago.
